Steve is Group President of Aon plc. He also serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon.

Prior to joining Aon, Steve served as CEO of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group where he oversaw day-to-day operations of the firm.

Steve's career began in insurance broking in 1977 at Bland Payne International (a predecessor company of Marsh). In 1989, he joined Lloyd Thompson, where he developed its international non-marine business, and in 1996 joined the Lloyd Thompson Group board.

Steve is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a past president of the Insurance Institute of London and a director of the International Insurance Society Inc. He also is on the International Advisory Board of British American Business and serves as a trustee of Find A Better Way, a charity focused on improving the lives of people and communities affected by landmines.
