Possibilities of Aon RiskConsole

Recording of incident and damage information
Aon RiskConsole is very suitable for recording incidents and damages. Not only insurable damages but also damages under own risk or incidents and complaints that do not have financial consequences. The claim form can, apart from the date of the damage, place of the incident, object that was involved, organization that was involved etc., be structured in a flexible way in the implementation phase, in order to satisfy the majority of the wishes of the users.

Due to the ability to attach all kinds of information and documents the possibility arises to form digital files. A user can consult the digital files from whatever location though the Internet.

Recording of policy data
RiskConsole offers comprehensive possibilities to record policy data; from details like running time, insured object, premium and coverage to the option to attach complete policy conditions. Damages can be linked with policies to provide a good overview of the damages per policy and issues like damage ratio percentage.

Recording of object data
Aon RiskConsole offers as a standard feature the possibility to record data regarding objects (like buildings, installations and medical equipment) and to link this to damages/incidents that are being registered. By linking damages to objects it is possible to perform damage analyses from several perspectives. This information can be a basis for further research or concrete measures to limit the number of damages and the extent of the damages.

Interaction between data records
RiskConsole distinguishes itself, amongst others, in the multitude of interactions between related records. This has several benefits. First of all, this allows fast navigation between linked records to allow for a quick look into relevant information, without the user having to go back to the main menu each time to download this information.

Reporting
Reports can be generated via the specific reporting tool as well as through reporting models that the user can create in an Excel environment. This last option offers the user the possibility to compile and expand relational reports and advanced search requests by using Excel.

Over the years a lot of experience was obtained in building reports within the specific reporting module. A lot of these reports are available as “standard”. The reports offer a lot of possibilities to compile overviews of risks, objects, policies etc.

Benchmarking
Through gathering and comparing information per organization division it is possible to develop benchmarks. If in the future similar organization branches would use the same RiskConsole, the information exchange (after harmonization) could lead to branch wide benchmarks.

Authorization Users
Aon RiskConsole is only accessible to users authorized through a username and a password. Within the system it is possible to set the access privileges per user through refined authorization. It is possible, for instance, to give one group read-only privileges and another read and write privileges. Aon RiskConsole is very flexible with respect to the organization of access privileges.

Link with other administrative systems
RiskConsole offers a lot of solutions for linking with other administrative solutions. In Europe as well as in the United States a lot of experience exists in making links. In the United States most data is processed by third parties so that links with other administrative systems are by far the most important resource for Aon RiskConsole.

Technical aspects of RiskConsole
Aon RiskConsole is a complete web based system. This means a software program that can be used via the Internet through a web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc…). Consequently it is not necessary to install local application software on the user’s computer. Naturally the user who will work with the system will need reliable Internet access.

Aon manages the infrastructure of the system, provides continuity, services and provides frequent back-ups. The application runs on servers in a data center of Aon in Atlanta, US. In designing the hardware in the data center measures have been taken to address calamities.

Securing Data traffic
The data traffic between the user’s computer and the data center is encrypted through the use of the https-protocol. This protocol is also used, amongst others, by Internet banking.
