Safety groups

In Quebec, the workers’ compensation board, which is known as the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST), gives small and medium-sized employers the opportunity to create or join safety groups. The purpose of safety groups is to promote the prevention of work accidents and the rehabilitation of workers, while allowing members to enjoy a substantial reduction in their CSST assessment.

Our unique safety group formula allows members to maximize their savings based on their OHS performance. Aon Hewitt safety groups are among the best performing in Quebec. To enable our members to turn in an enviable performance and ensure the effective management of their safety group, we offer turnkey financing, prevention and claims management services. They also benefit from administrative services for the effective coordination of their OHS activities. Here is an overview of the services we provide to safety groups:

  • Financial analysis and projections performed by actuaries;
  • Annual ranking of safety group members based on their individual performance;
  • On-site prevention visits and calculation of prevention index;
  • Coaching or training to help employers take charge of their OHS file;
  • Strict medico-administrative follow-up of occupational claims;
  • Defense funds to cover medical expertises, appeals before the Commission des lésions professionnelles and special projects;
