Manchester United Legends, Peter Schmeichel and Denis Irwin were in Dublin earlier this month to participate in an Aon Ireland business seminar on the theme of Risk and People and how they impact on business results.
As part of the visit, the Manchester United legends spent time with children at the Rutland National School in Dublin giving them advice on their football skills before visiting the Aon offices in Dublin to speak to over 200 employees.
Aon and Manchester United recently announced an extension of their existing partnership, extending the relationship by an additional eight years to 2021. The extension was designed to showcase how Aon "Empowers Results" for its clients while also providing the Club with greater access to Aon's leading risk and human resource solutions.
The business seminar attended by over 80 clients, which was held in the press centre at the Aviva Stadium, reinforced the common focus that both organisations place on subjects such as risk management, talent development and employee financial and health wellness and how a focus on these areas can deliver results for businesses across the globe. This was a unique client focused event that presented the full spectrum of services of Aon in Ireland under one banner including Aon Risk Solutions, Aon Hewitt, Aon Global Risk Consulting and the Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics.
Richard Endersen, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions opened the seminar where the audience heard from guest speakers that included Fergus Clancy, CEO of the Mater Private Hospital Group Ken Bowles, Group Financial Controller of Smurfit Kappa Group, Phil Townsend, Director of Communications, Manchester United and Manchester United legends Peter Schmeichel and Denis Irwin.
Aon participated through team members from across Aon Ireland's speciality areas including Stephen Cross, Chairman, Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics, Rory Moloney, CEO, Aon Global Risk Consulting, Gary Fearon, Head of Healthcare Practise, Aon Hewitt, Rachael Ingle, Managing Director, Aon Hewitt as well as Breda Farrell, Chief Broking Officer, Aon Risk Solutions.
After the seminar guests enjoyed a guided tour of the Aviva Stadium before getting the chance to ask Peter and Denis their own questions in an informal Q&A session.
