UNICEF Donation Box Fundraising Programme
To help making a difference to the lives of underprivileged children around the world, Aon Hong Kong supports UNICEF by placing UNICEF donation boxes in our office starting from June 2010. Employees are encouraged to donate money to show our care to the needy.
Employee Volunteer Week 2011
To build our spirit of serving the community, Aon Hong Kong participated in Employee Volunteer Week 2011 organized by the non-profit organization Community Business. We collectively volunteered more than 250 man hours of services to our community in different aspects. For examples, categorized donation currencies with UNICEF and visit elderly with The Salvation Army and making cookies with mentally challenged persons of Fu Hong Society.
Donations for CLF’s Mobile Library Project
To improve the educational facilities and build a better future for the students in China, Aon Hong Kong completed the charity digital camera and stationery donation to support the meaningful Mobile Library Project by China Literacy Foundation (CLF) in July 2008.
The Mobile Library Project is a momentous educational initiative where a team of well-trained volunteers build libraries with students in remote China. With these libraries, the impoverished Chinese students got a chance to read more books, receive better education and realize there is a bigger world beyond theirs.
Other Donation/Charity Activities
Aon Hong Kong also organized other donation and charity activities in the past years. For example, we donated money to support the reliefs of Sichuan Earthquake and South Asia Earthquake & Tsunami. Besides that, we also organized activities such as charity walk and mooncake charity sales.
Employee Volunteering Promotion Policy
To further encourage our staff to contribute their efforts in corporate social responsibility activities for the community, Aon Hong Kong introduced a series of employee friendly policies, such as the Employee Volunteering Promotion Policy and Dress Down Day in 2010. Employees can earn the special privilege for release from work/ day off and dress down when they participate in qualified hours of volunteer services.
