Aon Hewitt Provides High Volume Virtual Assessment Center to Support Development

Challenge

The largest subsidiary of a global energy company had been successfully using traditional assessment center techniques in-house for leadership development. However, this traditional approach was both time consuming and labor intensive, and ultimately detracted employees’ from relevant job responsibilities.

The client was searching for an out-sourced solution that delivered best practice leadership assessment process that would reduce administrative burden while providing the same value as their traditional assessment centers. At the same time, they need to improve efficiency and reduce cost while meeting an increased demand for assessments. Bottom line, a new approach was needed that would not compromising their rigorous and comprehensive approach to leadership development but that could be administered cost effectively for a relatively high volume of leaders.

Solution

Aon Hewitt designed a detailed, integrated assessment toolkit for two of the client’s high potential leadership programs. The assessment components involved a personality test, the Adaptive Profile Reasoning test, and the Emerging LEADeR® Simulation.

The process was implemented within a few weeks of the clients’ request and administered to over 80 participants in less than 90 days.

Aon Hewitt responded to the client’s needs by offering a completely virtual assessment experience. The unique and easy to navigate hub screen offered a way to smoothly facilitate participants’ progression through the assessment process with no administrative drain on the client.

Following the measurement methods, some participants took part in a feedback webcast aimed at helping them to understand their assessment results. Other participants received individual feedback and coaching provided by the client’s internally identified coaches, who had received training by Aon Hewitt.

Results

Within a short period of time, Aon Hewitt provided the client with a robust, multi-measurement leadership development solution, explicitly tailored to their needs.

Aon Hewitt effectively guided a high volume of participants through the assessment process in a tight time-frame, administering the assessment tools to 80 participants in 90 days.

The client benefitted from tremendous cost and time savings using Aon Hewitt’s leadership development tools, as compared to their previous internal assessment efforts.
