Agencies Release FAQs on Compliance With Summary of Benefits and Coverage Provisions

The Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Treasury (the agencies) jointly released an eighth set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the Affordable Care Act on March 19, 2012. This set of FAQs addresses issues regarding the implementation of the summary of benefits and coverage (SBC) provisions of the Affordable Care Act based on a final rule that was published on February 14, 2012. The following Aon Hewitt bulletin provides an overview of the FAQs, which are significant primarily due to the announcement of a good faith compliance requirement during the first year of applicability.
