That’s All Folks?—Agencies Say Some Affordable Care Act Rules Will Be Implemented Without Guidance

Plan sponsors will not receive guidance on provisions requiring the coverage of clinical trials or provider nondiscrimination as these provisions are self-implementing, according to the fifteenth set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) issued April 29, 2013 by the Departments of Labor, Treasury, and Health and Human Services (HHS) (the agencies). Furthermore, coverage reporting requirements will not begin until 2015 and if a plan received an annual dollar limit waiver for a mini-med plan, then a change in the plan year will not change the expiration date of the waiver.
