Grahame Chilton is Chairman of Aon Benfield and Vice Chairman of Aon Group. He was previously Group Chief Executive Officer of Benfield, having been appointed to that position in 1996. Part of the management team that led the buyout of Benfield in 1988, Grahame had been a Director since 1986, having first joined the group in 1982 from then Marsh subsidiary, CT Bowring. Grahame oversaw Benfield's significant expansion through a combination of organic growth and strategic transactions − including the acquisitions of Greig Fester Group Ltd., Bates Turner Intermediaries LLC, and E W Blanch Holdings, Inc. – seeing revenue increase from £50 million to some £350 million. During his years as a broker, Grahame has traded in non-marine, marine and aviation reinsurance and direct retrocession business |
