Aon Releases 2015 Safety Management Function Report - Ergonomics Program Management

Loading

Annually, Aon’s Casualty Risk Control practice surveys risk professionals including safety and risk managers to participate in the Safety Management Function Survey in order to gather insights into various aspects of safety management. In 2015, more than 100 safety and risk leaders participated in the survey, and the results were analyzed and presented in the 2015 Safety Management Function Report: Current State of Ergonomics Programs, launched in March of this year. The 2015 survey focused on the function and effectiveness of Ergonomic programs within our clients’ organizations.

As part of this 2015 survey, we surveyed ergonomics, as well as health, safety and risk professionals to learn more about the current state of their ergonomics programs. These professionals responded to questions about their organization’s programs, including the following:

  • Who is responsible for ergonomic programs?
  • What is driving ergonomic efforts?
  • What is the experience with third-party vendors?
  • What metrics are being used and are they effectively measuring efforts and success?

The voluntary survey was administered online and consisted of 13 questions. The survey was open from March 30, 2015 to June 22, 2015, and promoted through various technical groups and at two industry conferences: 2015 Michigan Safety Conference and Safety 2015 Professional Development Conference sponsored by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Participation in survey was open to any interested party; however, respondents were EHA, risk, and safety professionals. Aon clients and non-clients, registered participants of conferences or other interested parties may have participated. Aon is solely responsible for the design and interpretation of the analysis and holds the copyright thereto.

Participate in the 2016 Safety Management Function Survey

The Aon Casualty Risk Control practice recently launched the 2016 Safety Management Function -- Risk Management Alignment Survey. The 2016 survey focuses on the interaction of safety and prevention responsibilities within an organization's risk management team(s) in effort to understand the links -- and potential disconnects -- between operational safety and financial performance. All submissions will be held in strict confidentiality and findings will be shared only in the aggregate. In late 2016, Aon will collect and analyze the responses and subsequently publish a report of findings and identified trends.
