Aon Global Risk Consulting’s Vicki Missar Elected to ASPHP Board

Vicki Missar, an associate director of Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC), has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals, Inc. (ASPHP).

Vicki’s appointment reflects her active role in ASPHP and numerous accomplishments on behalf of Aon’s health care clients during the past 15 years. An ergonomics leader and liaison to Aon Health Care practice group, Missar works with clients using Aon’s Strategic Improvement Platform to drive injury reduction and cost savings through workforce transformation programs.

According to Dominic Colaizzo, chairman of Aon’s National Health Care practice, “The Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals is a leading membership organization in the health care industry. Having Vicki elected to the board further legitimizes our commitment to health care worker safety. No doubt Vicki will make an impact with her forward thinking.”

Vicki also helped with a key Aon innovation, helping develop and apply Aon’s Ageonomics approach. Aon Ageonomics combines data analytics with wellness, safety, absence management and change management protocols to reduce injury risk and raise the level of health and well-being of nurses, transporters and care managers.

“We are very pleased that Vicki has been recognized as a board member for Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals. We understand the challenges that hospital workers face every day, and Vicki’s expertise and leadership in all facets of safe patient handling and techniques should be of great value to the organization,” said Scott Smith, director of AGRC’s Ergonomics practice group.

Along with serving on the ASPHP board, Vicki is a presenter at the International Ergonomics Congress and guest lecturer at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

ASPHP provides a venue for its members to share experiences, access education and information, and advance their professional status through a certification program based on recognized standards.
