London - 6 January 2004 - Aon Consulting, the leading pensions, benefits and HR consulting firm, announced today that Robert Middleton has been appointed Managing Director of the Consulting business. Mr Middleton takes up his new role from 31 January 2004.

Commenting on his new role in Aon Consulting, Mr Middleton said,

In his last role as Managing Director of the Commercial division of Aon Consulting, Mr Middleton was responsible for overall client management, new business development and marketing across the UK. He was also a member of Aons Strategic Account Management Board for Europe as well as the Aon Consulting UK Board.

Mr Middleton's career at Aon began in Spring 1996 when he joined Alexander Clay to run the Glasgow office but was soon appointed Regional Director of Aon Consulting's Scottish business following Aon's acquisition of Alexander & Alexander. During his time as Regional Director, the Scottish business gained 25 major corporate clients, achieved significant growth and developed a strong market reputation.

Under his new role Mr Middleton will continue to report to Aon Consultings Chairman and Chief Executive, Ron Amy.

Mr Amy said:

"Robert brings an exceptional range and depth of talents to the role of Managing Director. His appointment will further strengthen our senior management team as we work to realise the potential for growth that exists in this firm."

Mr Middleton holds a BSc (Hons) in Maths and Statistics. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries and an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute. He takes over from Maurice Dyson, who has successfully run the Consulting business for the last five years.
