Ian Bailey, Co-Chief Executive

Ian joined the Investment Practice at Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt) in 2008 as a principal.Ian is an associate of the CFA Society of the UK (ASIP) and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute. At Aon Hewitt, he is co-CEO of our UK delegated consulting businesses and also advises a small number of UK pension schemes within the public and private sector on their investments. His clients adopt strategies, whether on a delegated basis or an advisory basis,tailored closely to their individual needs and he therefore has experience in a full range of potential asset classes and risk management approaches.

Ian was previously a managing director at BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited and its predecessor companies. Ian has over 35 years of broad industry experience including 15 years as a fund manager and 10 years as a trustee of the Merrill Lynch UK Pension Plan. At BlackRock, Ian was a member of the BlackRock UK Institutional Asset Allocation Committee and also a director of BlackRock Pensions Limited, a UK life company.

Paul Docherty, Co-Chief Executive

Paul joined Aon Consulting (now Aon Hewitt) in 1999 and is a principal and actuary within the Investment practice. At Aon Hewitt, he is co-CEO of our UK delegated consulting businesses. Paul has a breadth of experience spanning the understanding of liabilities, strategic investment policy, investment management and execution. He has held several executive roles including head of investment consulting.

Paul also advises a small number of UK and Irish pension schemes, and has advised clients with £5m to several billion in assets under management. He is a specialist in delegated consulting, including the implementation of flightpaths and construction of the associated daily monitoring and execution processes.

George Mortimer, Chief Operating Officer

George joined Aon Hewitt (then Hewitt) in May 2008 from Ernst & Young, where he was a director in the Investment Management practice with overall responsibility for a number of Ernst & Young's relationships with major investment management clients. Prior to that, George was the Chief Operating Officer of Aon's multi-manager business, which he set up for Aon Consulting in 2002 and ran until 2007. George has over 28 years' experience in financial services, having worked in investments, life & pensions, and outsourcing as well as management consulting to financial services clients. Previous employers include Schroder Unit Trusts, Financial Administration Systems Limited, Friends Provident and Impact Plus plc.

George is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (and sits on the Institute's global operations diploma examination panel) and a member of the Association for Project Management.

Joanna Sharples, Client Services Director

Joanna joined Aon Consulting (now Aon Hewitt) in 2000 and is a principal and actuary within the investment practice. At Aon Hewitt, she is Client Services Director for our UK delegated consulting businesses.

Joanna is also responsible for a portfolio of clients, assisting them in setting suitable investment objectives, advising on appropriate asset strategies, styles of investment management, selection of investment managers and performance monitoring. Joanna has a breadth of experience and expertise in Asset Liability Modelling and the design and implementation of ‘flight plans’.

Joanna graduated from University of Durham in 2000, joining Aon as an Actuarial Assistant. She qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2004 and joined Aon’s investment practice in July 2005. Joanna previously headed up Aon Hewitt’s investment team based in Farnborough, with responsibility for providing investment consulting advice to trustees on a wide range of clients.

Sue Clark, Relationship Director

Sue has more than 20 years’ experience of relationship management, much of which was gained in financial services with Thomson Reuters and FTSE. She works with our clients and companies new to Aon Hewitt, to help them to understand the best type of investment service for them by understanding their governance framework, trustee skills and knowledge and the objectives for their pension scheme.

Sue has a degree in Mathematics from London University and has a postgraduate qualification in Management Studies.

Adrian Davis, Relationship Director

As a member of our Delegated Consulting Services team Adrian has particular responsibly for helping clients and prospects evaluate if a delegated solution is appropriate to their requirements. Adrian has over 12 years' experience in professional services having previously been a director at PwC and Ernst & Young where he worked both as a strategy consultant and then as sales director. Adrian was also UK Sales and Marketing Director at Ventura (part of Capita), a leading outsourcing company.

Adrian holds an MBA (distinction) from Durham.
