Aidan is a Director with Aon’s Captive & Insurance Management in Dublin. Aidan has over 35 years’ experience working in the insurance industry.
As part of the senior leadership team Aidan is responsible for the client relationships on a portfolio of captive global accounts, introducing new initiatives to assist clients in achieving their objectives through risk retention and risk transfer techniques.
Aidan has extensive experience in the development of captive accounts, consultancy, design of insurance programmes and marketing of the captive concept. Aidan has also been involved in the establishment of two Third Party Insurers who developed into self-managed insurance companies.
Aidan has extensive knowledge of insurance policy wordings and reinsurance wordings and is fully conversant with the requirements to write cross-border insurance throughout the EU. Currently Aidan is a director of several (re)insurance entities licensed in Dublin.
Prior to his involvement in the captive industry, Aidan worked in the general non-life industry. During his time there, he worked in the fields of Direct Underwriting and Facultative Reinsurance handling a number of international accounts.
