Leading with Strategic Thinking

Leading with Strategic Thinking

What makes a leader particularly strategic? Leading with Strategic Thinking (Wiley, 2015) examines what leaders who think strategically do differently. The book is based on research conducted by Aon thought leaders and graduate-level coursework taught at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois (USA).

Strategic thinking is comprised of three key activities: recognizing patterns, assessing risk, and making decisions. Relevant tools from the field of strategic management can enhance strategic thinking. In our observations, strategic thinking causes leaders to do things differently.

This is an essential guide to understanding how to think and lead strategically. Olson and Simerson do a great job describing what distinguishes strategic leaders and companies.
