Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership - The Investment Leaders Group

We are proud to be a member of The Investment Leaders Group (ILG), a global network of pension funds, insurers and asset managers committed to advancing the practice of responsible investment.

The ILG has a vision of an investment chain in which economic, social and environmental sustainability are delivered as an outcome of the investment process as investors go about generating robust, long-term returns.

ILG membership comprises 10 leading investment managers and asset owners, with explicit senior-level support from member organisations. It is a voluntary initiative, driven by its members, facilitated by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and supported by academics in the University of Cambridge and elsewhere. The ILG holds a unique position at the nexus of academic research and cutting-edge corporate leadership.

The ILG has now entered its second phase, an ambitious three-year programme focusing on investment impact and long-termism.

Prior to this, the output from three primary research areas were launched to the investment industry: Reporting investment impact; Mandates for long-term, sustainable investment; and Financial impact of carbon-related regulation, which followed the launch of The value of responsible investment in June 2014, Fiduciary duty in March 2015, and Unhedgeable risk in November 2015.
