Our people:

Our professionals partner closely with our clients to develop solutions that work seamlessly with their businesses. Coordinated by strategic account managers or relationship managers, our team specialise by product, function and industry. We help our clients uncover risks and discover new opportunities to make their businesses more successful — now, and into the future.

Our business structure:

To work seamlessly and swiftly across borders, Aon has established its global client network. This worldwide network of companies lets us tap into the most innovative risk solutions, no matter where they’re created, and provide the best resources for every situation. For example, an industry expert in Europe can access information in the United States and deliver a solution to a client in Asia.

Our approach: how we work with companies

For multinational companies, our resources are brought together by a strategic account manager. It’s their job to understand each business’ unique situation, and match this with the appropriate skills and resources within Aon. Companies that operate in a single region will be paired with a local representative who understands their issues and how to address them.

Developing your potential:

Our early careers development programmes are designed to find and develop the future stars of our business. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, full of potential and have a strong academic background.

We recruit students into four different programmes, depending on their entry point:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Summer Internships
  • Industrial Placements
  • Graduates

Within each programme, you’ll have a choice of a technical ‘stream’ — or specialist area. Depending on the area you join, you'll be using your numeracy, analytical abilities and strong communication skills to help clients address key questions that affect the running and growth of their businesses. What will be the impact of rising life expectancy? How would the collapse of the Eurozone affect the world economy? Will we see an increase in anti-globalisation protests? Can we look forward to a rise in living standards — or should we all be preparing for a fall? Join Aon, and you’ll be helping to provide crucial answers to these questions.

Real responsibility:

At Aon, early responsibility is a way of life. You'll very quickly become a technical specialist in your chosen area, meeting clients and advising them on our market-leading products far sooner than you would in many other organisations.

Thanks to our thorough training and development programme, you’ll be fully equipped to make an immediate impact on our business. We’ll give you the guidance you need to build your business knowledge, develop professional skills and grow effective relationships with clients and colleagues.

We’ll also provide full study support for your professional qualifications. In short, we’ll put everything in place to help you build a challenging, rewarding career here at Aon.

Our areas of expertise:

  • Commercial risk solutions
Trends in economics, demographics and geopolitics — compounded by the rapid pace of technological change — are creating unprecedented volatility for organisations. We offer risk advisory, risk transfer and structured solutions that help organisations and individuals to identify, quantify and manage their risk exposure.

We harness our global scale and unmatched investment in proprietary data and analytics to give our clients structured insurance market access, greater pricing certainty and increased capacity to meet their evolving risk management needs. Our risk consultants use insights to develop a wide range of solutions, helping clients across sectors and industries reduce their total cost of risk.

  • Retirement and investment services
The UK pensions landscape is evolving, fast. Economic challenges, legislative change, an ageing population and asset volatility — they all pose a variety of risks and challenges to pension schemes. Trustees and scheme sponsors are faced with decisions on difficult topics from managing risk and improving member engagement to setting an investment strategy and managing DC plans.

At Aon, our market-leading capabilities and award-winning expertise make us the perfect partner to help businesses through their pension challenges. We can provide integrated and comprehensive solutions across actuarial, plan administration, investment and insurance disciplines — with this complete package, we’re able to serve our clients' unique needs every step of the way.

Our investment consultants use their real-world investment experience to help them tackle client issues. We work across a wide range of investment options — from investment advice or how to use hedge funds appropriately, to much more direct help. Our sophisticated modelling tools mean we’re able to make informed choices about investment strategies and tailor our solutions to clients' needs.

  • Cyber solutions
Now, every company is a technology company. A cyber breach has the potential to be devastating; interrupting business operations, supply chains, products and more. It can also impact third parties such as clients, patients, or guests.

So, it’s key that we help clients to see their organisation from an attacker’s perspective. They need assurance from us that their assets are protected, and for us to let them know if they’re susceptible to a compromise or breach.

  • Health solutions
Employee benefits are non-monetary compensation given to employees by companies, in addition to their salary (although some might involve a salary-sacrifice arrangement). A strong employee benefits package keeps staff engaged and motivated, improves employee wellbeing — whether that’s physical, mental, emotional or financial — and helps businesses to attract and retain staff in a competitive marketplace.

  • Human capital solutions
For most firms, people are their largest expense — and their greatest asset. With industry lines rapidly blurring, companies in every sector are competing for a finite group of technical, creative and business talent.

Our three-part approach provides long-term solutions so our clients can make confident business decisions and withstand market volatility.
