Greg Lee BSc, FIA, FNZSA, CFA

Contact Greg Lee
Greg graduated from Auckland University in 1983 and joined Guardian Royal Exchange in that year. After obtaining his OE in 1987/88 he joined Aon Consulting. In 1991 and 1992 he helped establish our Wellington office. Greg qualified as a Fellow of The Institute of Actuaries, London, in 1996. In September 2004, Greg passed the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA charter is the only globally recognised credential for investment analysis and management. Greg heads up our actuarial New Zealand practice and the investment consulting practice in Auckland.
Janet Hayden BSc, FIAA, FNZSA

Janet is another graduate of Auckland University. After completing her BSc with a major in mathematics in 1979 she joined National Mutual. She worked in a variety of areas, initially in Wellington and then in Auckland. Janet qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1989.

Born and bred in Wellington, Bernie began his actuarial training after completing his secondary education at Rongotai College. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1976 and has a wealth of actuarial experience from an impressive and diverse career with National Mutual (AXA). He has worked in a variety of actuarial positions in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. In recent years, Bernie has been engaged in the areas of superannuation and funds management.

Gary joined the employee benefit consulting industry in 1991 following 10 years of superannuation management experience including scheme administration, IT development, mortgage administration, customer service and marketing. Gary manages our Christchurch office and predominantly provides advice relating to superannuation schemes and support to our South Island clients.
Marcelo Lardies

Marcelo graduated as an Actuary from the University of Buenos Aires in 1984 whilst completing an Actuarial Apprenticeship with a regional reinsurance company. During his 23 year career Marcelo has worked in a variety of actuarial and senior management positions in Argentina and New Zealand, with major global financial services corporations such as Banca del Lavoro, RGA, HSBC, Met Life & Citicorp. Marcelo moved to New Zealand in 1987 and joined Aon in August 2006. He enjoys sailing, coaching junior rugby and is the Treasurer of the International 420 Class Association and Starling class Convenor of the Glendowie Boating Club.
Tony Hutchins

Tony has over 30 years experience in actuarial consulting, mainly in Wellington, starting out with John Eriksen and Partners in 1975. He has had a wide variety of work, the most interesting being inventing mathematical algorithms for modelling abstruse tax or asset pricing issues.
Always one to enjoy compound interest, Tony's claim to fame is that he is named in the manual of the HP12C Calculator (25th Anniversary model).

Michael Glenday

Michael was born and educated in South Africa and has a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree. He has over twenty years experience in the financial field fulfilling roles from Financial Accountant to Financial Director, to managing his own accounting practice.
Mercer Human Resource Consulting previously employed Michael in October 2000, initially as the National Manager for Fund Accounting. His role soon expanded to include Manager - Scheme Administration - Auckland, and later as Operations Manager for the Mercer Master Trust as well as a Consultant for the Auckland Defined Contribution Schemes. Michael was appointed Associate in March 2002.
Michael joined Aon Consulting as an Account Manager in May 2003, dealing in all aspects of superannuation. In October 2004, Michael took on the additional role as Manager of the Superannuation Administration department.
John Hammond

John has over 20 years experience in actuarial consulting and has worked for consulting firms in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. He has accumulated a wide experience of actuarial work in that time focussing on superannuation and life insurance. He has also worked as a computer analyst/programmer on customised and generalised systems used to administer superannuation schemes. In this role, he gained a hands-on appreciation of the administrative challenges that superannuation schemes provide. In 1988 John moved to Wellington and joined Jacques Martin as an Actuarial Consultant, becoming part of Aon Consulting in 1998. Since then, John has been involved in life office valuations, asset and liability modelling and providing advice and assistance to superannuation trustees on a wide range of matters including benefit design, restructuring of schemes, investment strategy and monitoring, insurance arrangements and actuarial valuations.
Cheryl Styles

Cheryl specialises in trust deed work, member communications and associated scheme documentation as well as the legislative requirements for maintaining a compliant superannuation scheme. She has spent some time in the area of scheme administration further broadening her superannuation knowledge. Cheryl is an experienced project manager for scheme mergers and partial terminations including preparing appropriate member communication as well as liaising with Trustees, service providers and members. She provides secretarial services as well as support services to external secretaries of client superannuation schemes. Cheryl wrote an administration manual for a major national corporate superannuation scheme and became the editor of the firm's trusteeship guide. In addition she organises and runs trustee training seminars. Since joining Aon, Cheryl has worked extensively in drafting prospectuses and investment statements for more than 20 client superannuation schemes, liaising with trustees, sponsoring employer, solicitors, auditors, investment and administration managers and the Registrar of Companies.
Charles Macdonald, BSc, FIA, FNZSA

Charles is a graduate of Canterbury University. After graduating, he worked for actuarial consulting companies between 1982 to date, both in Wellington and in London.
Charles has 25 years experience in investment consulting, both in New Zealand and overseas. Much of his work has been with private sector clients, in particular relating to their superannuation plans though also with tax-exempt clients. He also provides actuarial and more general superannuation consulting advice.
Charles heads up our NZ research team and coordinates our NZ investment consulting research with global research carried out by our overseas colleagues. He has client management roles for several of Aon's significant clients based in Wellington and the South Island.
Ashley Goss

Ashley has had 24 years working in the financial sector, ranging from retail banking, foreign exchange, investment banking and superannuation. Ashley worked for AXA New Zealand in superannuation plan administration for 5½ years before joining us in May 2001. Ashley's strongest quality is his ability to create a strong client bond with a focus in providing quality service to the membership on behalf of the Trustees.
