Yet, historical milestones such as the CERN's recent discoveries and the Mars landing go almost unnoticed.
What are the world's most renowned scientists working on in the CERN?
What have we discovered already?
What do we hope to find and what would be the impact?
How does cosmology impact our daily lives? Where do we go from here?
These are questions for Thomas Hertog, a prominent cosmologist and collaborator of Stephen Hawking.
Born in Leuven in 1975, he holds degrees from KU Leuven and Cambridge University.
After posts as research fellow at the University of California and the CERN in Geneva, he returned to Leuven in 2011 to head up a team researching string theory and the Big Bang. He has lectured in more than 20 countries and is widely published.
