President Signs EO on Healthcare Price Transparency
On February 25, 2025, the President signed an Executive Order (EO) on price transparency in healthcare. The EO directs the Departments of Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services to “rapidly implement and enforce the Trump healthcare price transparency regulations.” For more information, see the Aon bulletin entitled Trump Administration Issues Executive Order Directing Further Implementation of Health Plan, Hospital Price Transparency, in the Publications section of this newsletter.

Trump Administration Issues Executive Order Directing Further Implementation of Health Plan, Hospital Price Transparency
On February 25, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) directing the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, and Treasury (Departments) to issue additional guidance and enforcement for health plan and hospital price transparency. The EO, entitled Making America Healthy Again by Empowering Patients with Clear, Accurate, and Actionable Healthcare Pricing Information, directs the Departments to focus on:

  • Requiring the disclosure of actual prices, not estimates of prices;
  • Providing updated guidance for standardizing price disclosures for easy comparison across health plans and hospitals; and
  • Issuing guidance and regulatory action updating enforcement policies to ensure compliance with reporting complete, accurate, and meaningful data.

IRS Provides More Guidance on March 3 Deadline for Alternative Form 1095-C Delivery Method
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a notice clarifying that employers using the alternative method to furnish Forms 1095-C to full-time employees must post their notices of availability in a clear, conspicuous, and accessible manner on their websites by March 3, 2025.
