DOL Releases Guidance on ERISA’s Annual Funding Notice Requirements Following SECURE 2.0
On April 3, 2025, the Department of Labor (DOL) released Field Assistance Bulletin (FAB) 2025-02, which includes guidance for reflecting the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022 (SECURE 2.0) in the Annual Funding Notice. On the same day, the DOL released two updated safe harbor model notices for single and multiemployer pension plans. The guidance provided in FAB 2025-02 applies to single-employer plans, including Cooperative and Small Employer Charity plans, as well multiemployer plans.
