Trump Administration Announces Initiatives to Increase Access to IVF
On October 16, 2025, President Trump announced initiatives designed to lower costs and expand access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. The announcement includes discounts on the price of certain IVF drugs, as well as accelerated approval of lower-cost fertility-related drugs. 

In addition, the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Treasury issued Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) 72 that addresses the ability of employers to provide certain benefits related to infertility without running afoul of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or HIPAA requirements. This guidance allows employers to offer certain types of infertility coverage as “excepted benefits” that do not have to comply with the requirements of the ACA or HIPAA.
