The All About Leave Newsletter—January 2026 Edition
The All About Leave Newsletter focuses on what employers need to know about state and local laws that regulate paid sick leave, paid family and medical leave, and paid leave for any reason.

Departments Issue Proposed Regulations to Update the Transparency in Coverage Requirements
Proposed regulations would update the Transparency in Coverage rules, first issued during the first Trump Administration, that require group health plans and health insurers to publish negotiated rates and allowed amounts for medical services in machine-readable files (MRFs). The proposed regulations address feedback by stakeholders related to the size of the files, unnecessary duplication of information in the files, the lack of contextual information with the files, and inconsistency with the hospital price transparency requirements.

Comments on the proposed regulations are due by February 23, 2026. If proposed rules are finalized, employers must ensure their medical third-party administrators update the MRFs they are posting on behalf of the employer group health plan to comply with the new rules.

Medicare Part D Disclosure Reminder
This Aon bulletin is a reminder of an annual disclosure requirement applicable to most employers that provide prescription drug coverage to individuals who are Medicare Part D-eligible. This disclosure is not new and should have occurred each year since 2006. The disclosure applies regardless of whether an employer provides retiree prescription drug benefits.
