Virginia Enacts Paid Family and Medical Leave Law
Most employers will be required to participate in a mandatory paid family and medical leave program starting in 2028. Contributions will begin by April 1, 2028, and benefits by December 1, 2028. Employers will need to decide whether to participate in the state plan or apply to sponsor an insured or self-insured private plan.
