San Francisco Increases Employer Health Care Spending Requirement for 2027
San Francisco’s 2027 Health Care Security Ordinance employer health care spending rates will increase to $4.49/hour for large employers and $2.99/hour for medium-sized employers effective January 1, 2027. Covered employers must make qualifying quarterly health care expenditures for covered employees, which may include health insurance premiums, health savings account contributions, or payments to the San Francisco City Option.
