Case Study: Background

Our existing client and their clients were seeking exposure to insurance-linked risk assets within their portfolio. As part of their long-term investment strategy they began offering a solution to life insurance companies based in the EU.

This solution, known as an embedded value transaction, creates liquidity for them by monetizing a portion of future premium charges that are designed to cover broker commissions and certain other administration expenses in respect of the underlying policies.

Case Study: Approach

With its class C license White Rock can write long-term business that is Solvency II equivalent. By understanding the client needs, working closely with the Aon team and effective networking with the clients management team Aon was able to offer the White Rock solution.

Case Study: Results

The client is now better equipped to offer their investors an alternative asset class and offer cedants a regulatory approved vehicle to monetize certain assets fully collateralized with investor funds.
