First 50 DRRs – How have companies responded to the 2018 Corporate Governance Code and market developments

Date: Thursday 2 May 2019
Time: 08:15 – 10:00am
Venue: The Aon Centre, 122 Leadenhall Street, London EC3V 4AN

As we approach the peak of the 2019 AGM season in May, many companies will be starting to reflect on the lessons learned by others in the current season as they commence planning for their third binding shareholder vote in 2020.

Companies seeking shareholder approval for a new binding policy at their 2019 AGM will have had to take account of the 2018 UK Corporate Governance Code (view newsletter here) and accompanying policy guidance from the investment community, providing examples of how companies have sought to comply with such new requirements as post-employment shareholding requirements, discretion and alignment of pensions with the workforce. With the first AGMs having also been held we can also see the reactions of shareholders to the approaches taken.

This session will look at the first fifty DRRs published by companies in the FTSE 350 in 2019 summarising the latest developments, and consider their potential implications for remuneration policies and disclosure in the future.
