Sarah has worked with health and social care organisations for the last 27 years and brings a depth of knowledge from her direct experience working in underwriting, broking and claims. Sarah leads Aon's UK Health & Social Care Industry Practice leading the business on growth initiatives, strategy and thought leadership. Sarah has extensive knowledge of the challenges that the sector faces and aims to bring together innovative solutions which enable healthcare providers to evolve their risk mitigation strategy and continually improve risk profile. Over the years, Sarah has worked with a wide range of care organisations both public and private sector including private hospitals, clinics, care homes and complex care.

Mark Riley-Pitt

With 20 years’ experience in the health sector, Mark’s specialist clinical risk management knowledge centres around medical facilities including Acute Hospitals, Mental Health and Community health including in Primary Care. Mark has advised various Government bodies such as Department of Health and Ministry of Justice, by sitting on specially convened panels and industry sector groups to advise on clinical risk and indemnity, within the UK healthcare environment and similar healthcare economies across Europe. Mark has worked closely with the healthcare regulators assisting these bodies in reviewing and assessing clinical risk, within all aspects of health and social care, including public, private, not for profit and charitable sectors.

Lorraine Roberts-Rance

Experience: 20+ years

Lorraine focuses on shaping strategies, systems and processes to provide early warnings to enable proactive risk management and improve patient safety. Tactically this can involve building in data gathering and learning functions to enhance organisational clinical intelligence. She works with health and social care services and teams to identify risks that lead to incidents. This work is anchored in the principles of Learning through Transparency to embed effective learning. Using elements of design thinking with clinical groups she enables teams to better understand functional and cultural issues that can inhibit learning and simultaneously promote innovation within Acute, Community and Mental Health settings. Lorraine collaborated with the Stanford Risk Authority (part of Stanford University Hospitals) for more than seven years focusing on risk management processes including advanced data analysis, clinician engagement.

Claire Howarth

Account Director – Medical Professions

Experience: 10+ years

Claire specialises in medical malpractice and has extensive experience engaging with clinicians and private healthcare providers to arrange malpractice indemnity and risk management solutions. Claire is responsible for the distribution of Aon’s Medical Indemnity insurance and its day-to-day support service, she is passionate about ensuring clients have the best possible experience. To achieve this goal she works closely with stakeholders to actively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and to add value. Before joining Aon in 2023, Claire spent 12 years with a medical defence organisation, initially specialising in the discretionary individual primary care market. In later years Claire managed their corporate medical indemnity globally and was the project lead for distribution during the implementation of their new insurance capability.

Laura Jennings

Experience: 28 years

Laura brings over 8 years’ experience working with housing associations and more recently private healthcare providers to deliver innovative solutions and oversee the delivery of the procurement process and onward transition of clients into Aon. Laura has a collaborative approach to building new relationships and values long term partnerships to ensure any potential new client benefits from a bespoke service support plan.
