Giles Bentley
Managing Director - Professional Services, Aon

Giles is head of Aon’s Professional Services Group in the UK, which focuses on the Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber and property and casualty insurance requirements of large global professional service firms with their headquarters in the UK. Giles has over 30 years professional indemnity experience. In his role for major law firm clients, over several years, Giles is responsible for overall service delivery, providing technical advice on coverage issues, programme structure, policy wordings and developing and delivering on renewal strategy.

Ally Corbridge
Senior Consultant - Cyber Security, Aon

Ally is a Senior Consultant in the Security Advisory practice where she focuses on assessing the security posture of organisations (against industry standards and frameworks) as well as incident response readiness. Prior to her current role at Aon, Ally was a practising solicitor, specialising in cyber incident response and crisis management. She has experience in providing support in the wake of 40+ cyber incidents; co-ordinating and managing digital forensics vendors, ransom negotiators, public relations specialists, and correspondent counsel. Advising on numerous aspects of an incident, including regulatory and commercial concerns, forensics, liaising with law enforcement, data discovery and restoration, business continuity planning, PCI investigations and communications with affected individuals and counter-parties. Ally has also supported with post-incident work streams including defending mass data breach claims and advising on regulatory investigations.

Anne King
Operations Director, Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner

As Operations Director for the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC), Anne supports Jersey’s Information Commissioner in developing the JOIC’s strategy across all areas to ensure that the organisation’s short and long-term objectives are met. In addition to leading the JOIC towards its longer-term vision and strategy, Anne also oversees its day-to-day operations to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of its core processes and services. Anne is directly responsible for the flow of all operational information to the Information Commissioner and the Jersey Data Protection Authority. Anne supports the Information Commissioner to build public awareness of data protection and oversees the development of policies and procedures to ensure that core operational processes across the JOIC run effectively.
Anne regularly presents to industry groups about data protection and specific areas of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. In addition, Anne oversees JOIC’s ‘Board Support Service’ helping organisations to navigate data protection risk and liability at Board Level.
Anne works closely with the Information Commissioner to develop collaborative working relationships with other European and international data protection and privacy regulators.

Matthew Parker
Chief Information Security Officer, Mourant

Matthew is an experienced Cyber Security leader with over 20 years' experience in the IT industry. Experienced in designing, implementing and managing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) from the ground up that meets ISO 27001 certification requirements and implementing Cyber Security strategies that not only meet the organisations requirements but are designed to be more easily adopted and followed. He is a frequent contributor to the media and has been invited to speak on cybercrime and Information Security matters in the Channel Islands and further afield.

Sharon Glynn
Senior Development Underwriter, Travelers

Sharon is a Solicitor and Director of Underwriting at Travelers Europe. She worked in private practice as a professional indemnity lawyer before joining the claims team at Travelers. As a Senior Claim Professional, Sharon was responsible for handling the claims of the largest law firms. In 2018, Sharon moved to the Underwriting Team at Travelers where she is now a Director with responsibility for the largest law firm accounts. In addition to underwriting, Sharon is co-chair of the Women’s Diversity Network for Travelers Europe and sits on the Gender Inclusion Network committee.

Professor Ian Reeves, CBE
Immediate Past Chairman of GCP Infrastructure Investments Ltd, a FTSE 250 company

Ian is a Jersey resident. He is the CEO and co-founder of Synaps International Limited, the Senior Independent Director of Triple Point Social Housing REIT plc, a Main Market listed company, and Chairman of Geiger Counter Limited - a specialist fund listed on the International Stock Exchange and a Director of several other private companies. He is also visiting professor of Infrastructure Investment and Construction at The Alliance Manchester Business School. Ian was founder and Chairman of High-Point Rendel Group plc, president and CEO of Cleveland Bridge, Chairman of McGee Group, and Chairman of the London regional council of the CBI. He was made a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2003 for his services to business and charity.

Karen Le Cras
Partner and General Counsel, Carey Olsen

Karen is a partner at Carey Olsen and the firm's General Counsel. Having previously headed up the firm's Guernsey litigation practice, specialising in corporate and commercial disputes, in January 2019 Karen became Carey Olsen's first General Counsel, and is responsible for providing legal and regulatory advice to the firm across the eight jurisdictions in which it operates. Karen advises on a wide range of legal, compliance, governance, insurance and regulatory issues arising out of the provision of legal and professional services across a multi-jurisdictional base. Karen was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1995 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1999. Practising in London before returning to Guernsey and joining Carey Olsen in 2002, Karen was called to the Guernsey Bar in 2003 and has been a partner at Carey Olsen since 2005.

Paul Smith
Senior Risk Management Consultant, Travelers

Paul is a solicitor and senior risk management consultant. He began in general practice in the 1980s, dealing with a variety of legal work, before joining the Solicitors Indemnity Fund in 1991 as a claims handler. He subsequently led claims handling, project and change teams before moving to do similar work at BLG Claims in 2009. He has been at Travelers since 2010 as a member of the Risk Management Team.

Sarah O’Neill
Professional Services, Aon

Sarah joined Aon UK's Professional Services Group in September this year, to lead the risk and compliance advisory service that we offer to our professional service firm clients. Previously a Senior In-house Risk Counsel at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, and before then a General Counsel, COLP and Partnership Secretary at Addleshaw Goddard. Sarah qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 while at Allen & Overy where she spent the first 12 years of her career, initially in the corporate law team before moving into the management team.

Angela Robertson
General Counsel, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Walkers

Angela is the global General Counsel, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at international law firm Walkers, headquartered in the Cayman Islands. Based in London, Angela advises the Management Committee on legal and regulatory matters in respect of the firm's legal, corporate and fiduciary services. Her role encompasses new business intake, risk management, ethical standards, insurance arrangements and claims, partnership matters and employee issues. Angela has over 20 years' experience in law firm risk & compliance and in-house legal services. She joined Walkers in 2018, having previously set up and managed risk and compliance and in-house legal teams at 3 onshore firms. Prior to that, she practised as a commercial litigation lawyer at a Magic Circle firm.

David Wild
Group Head, Risk & Compliance, Ogier

David joined Ogier Group in September 2022 as Group Head, Risk & Compliance. Based in Jersey, David has worked in international financial services for over 25 years. David’s early career within a Big 4 firm focused on the provision of assurance and advisory, regulatory consulting and forensic accounting services, and also included a 15-month secondment to the Policy & Legal division of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC). Following this experience, David moved, in 2004, to take up the role of Technical Director at Jersey Finance Limited where he was responsible for managing and supporting the industry’s overall relationship with the JFSC and Government, working closely with the regulator and other stakeholders on a broad range of policy, regulatory and legislative matters.
In 2006, David joined RBC Wealth Management (WM) as Head of Risk & Compliance for the British Isles, with Second Line oversight responsibility for a business of circa 2,000 FTE operating across the Banking, Fiduciary, Funds and Investment Management sectors. During a 10-year tenure with RBC, David went on to hold a range of senior leadership positions across both the First and Second Lines including membership of RBC’s Global Trust Advisory Board, providing co-ordination and oversight to RBC WM’s fiduciary operations across the Caribbean, British Isles and Asia.
In 2016, David joined a private equity backed fiduciary and fund services business as Group Chief Risk Officer. As CRO, David was accountable for the strategic development and enhancement of the Group’s governance, risk management and compliance arrangements ahead of its planned sale. Following the sale of the business in 2018, David assumed the CRO role for the combined business which subsequently grew to become a leading global investor services group, operating across 24 strategic locations and employing approximately 4,000 people.

Senior Claims Adjuster, Markel International

Tony joined Markel in 2022 and has been working in law/insurance since 2007. Tony is experienced in handling professional indemnity claims against all professions and adjusting claims in D&O, W&I and Cyber. Tony previously worked in private practice.
