About tax
On the Government’s site, you can find out all about tax, including information on tax allowances. Martin Lewis, the well-known ‘Moneysavingexpert’ also gives you information about tax rates and capital gains tax on his own popular website.
The Moneysavingexpert site has got a section dedicated to inheritance tax and planning, or you can visit theGovernment’s site for more about inheritance tax, estate planning and intestacy.
Also, when looking at your future tax planning, you might also want to consider the cost of long term care.
Information and forms around all aspects of tax and benefits can be found on the HMRC site.
About wills
The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) offers a useful tool where you can search for a registered solicitor who can help you write a will. Or, you can use the online legal services of MyLawyer, or Which Wills to create your own will.
Alternative options that include charitable donations as well as will writing services are offered by Will Aid andFree Wills Month.
The Money Advice Service website has a section where you can learn more about wills and estate planning, and STEP have created two separate booklets that talk you through both why you should make a will, and why make a lasting power of attorney.
