Case Study – Sunrise

Sunrise provides investment, development, and asset management services with a focus on logistics properties in Europe and the UK. We have worked with Aon since the inception of our business in their capacity as property insurance broker to our JV partner.

After a conversation with a professional indemnity specialist within the Aon Real Estate team we invited Aon to undertake a confidential review of our PII arrangements.

The review identified several opportunities to improve the level of cover available to our business and, to our JV partner. Aon also suggested that a premium saving may be achievable by highlighting to insurers that most of the liabilities arising from the work we oversee is transferred to third parties. This was all achieved in a very limited time-period ahead of an impending renewal date.

Our prior experience of working with Aon combined with their evident understanding of our operational model gave us the confidence to appoint Aon to manage our PII renewal.

We are delighted with the results Aon obtained for us, including:

  1. Delivering a 10% reduction in premium.
  2. Tailoring the policy wording to provide cover for the liabilities arising from the work we undertake for JV partners.
  3. Improving the policy coverage including moving to an Any One Claim basis of cover.

Aon have been efficient to work with throughout and have harnessed their understanding of our business to minimise requests for additional information which in turn limited the disruption to our business.
