Aon Hewitt Webinar recording:
Rethinking longevity - where is the new norm?
Emerging mortality experience data in England & Wales shows longevity improvements having fallen dramatically since 2011. Differing opinions on how to interpret this data are shaking up the consensus view of improvements in the UK market. And, at the same time, market participants are having to get to grips with the proposed new CMI projection model.
Alongside this, the longevity markets are starting to take off outside the UK, in particular in the Benelux - prompted not least by Solvency II concerns - and Canada. This means there is an increasing focus on the need to understand mortality improvements in those countries.
In this webinar, we set out our take on the data and the proposed model, in the UK and other countries.
- What is the evidence for a genuine shift in the underlying improvement trend in the UK?
- If the trend has changed, how should mortality improvements be projected?
- How does the proposed CMI model react to recent experience and what alternatives should we consider?
- What does recent mortality experience look like in other countries and how should we project this?
