My name is Jennifer Michel and I am an Investment Analyst intern this summer in the London team. Last month, I finished my second-year at the London School of Economics where I study Mathematics and Statistics.
At LSE, I am part of the dance and drama club where I take part in shows and performances which were unfortunately put on hold this term due to the current situation.
Being a virtual intern is definitely a different experience, but I have felt so included within the Aon community as I am able to meet new people and have regular catch-ups through WebEx discussing careers and outside interests.
Particularly, I am getting involved in promoting and learning more about Responsible Investing (RI) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Having been a pescatarian for over 3 years and trying to move away from purchasing fast fashion by buying second hand items and sustainably sourced materials, I am really glad that sustainability is also something that I can implement in the daily tasks of the internship and have a real impact at a large scale.
Prior to Covid-19, I have been training to become a qualified leader for Girl Guides which demands lots of creativity and awareness. I enjoy the new challenges as I adapt to the “new normal” by thinking outside the box for virtual activities which can remain both safe and fun.
