Airmic 2018 pulse survey

Aon run a biannual survey where we ask risk management professionals at public and private companies of all sizes and across a wide range of industries globally, about the top risk they feel their organisations are facing.

The last survey was released in 2017 and showed the following as the top 10 risk key risks.

  1. Damage to reputation/brand
  2. Economic slowdown/slow recovery
  3. Increasing competition
  4. Regulatory/legislative changes
  5. Cyber crime/hacking/viruses/malicious codes
  6. Failure to innovate/meet customer needs
  7. Failure to attract or retain top talent
  8. Business interruption
  9. Political risk/uncertainties
  10. Third party liability (inc . E&O)
 

The Top five risks as voted for by Airmic 2018 delegates

On the Aon Stand at the Airmic Conference which was held in Liverpool 11 – 13 June we ran a ‘Pulse Survey’ with delegates to determine what they feel are the current top risks facing their business.

  1. Cybercrime/hacking/viruses/malicious codes
  2. Damage to reputation/brand
  3. Business interruption
  4. Failure to innovate/meet customer needs
  5. Failure to attract or retain top talent

The top risks where announced at the conference by Aon’s Eddie McLaughlin and our special guest; broadcaster, journalist and business commentator Declan Curry’.

Eddie made the following comment about the Pulse Survey results.“the major upward movement in Cyber risk and business interruption / resilience is consistent with the challenges our clients are increasingly ask Aon to help solve. It also continues to highlight the interconnected nature of major global risks”.
