We may also collect sensitive information about you such as criminal convictions (including criminal records, motor vehicle traffic violation records and arrest records) or health information (including medical records, medical history, family medical history, physical disabilities, blood type, drug testing results, and various physical testing information) in relation to life, health, professional liability and workers compensation insurance or employee benefit programs sponsored by your employer. When you provide information that enables us to respond to your request for products or services, we will seek your prior consent (in accordance with applicable laws) to our collection, use and disclosure of this information to appropriate third parties for the purposes described in this Statement or otherwise.

How does Aon use your personal information?


The personal information we collect may be used to:

  • Upon the client’s request, provide information and services from time to time and administer, maintain, manage and operate such information, products and/or services which may include business reporting, business administration, customer fulfillment, statistical and data analysis, claim services, risk solutions, risk accounting, insurance broking, reinsurance broking services;
  • provide information and services as requested by you and administer, maintain, manage and operate such information, products and/or services which may include business reporting, business administration, customer fulfilment, statistical and data analysis, claim services, risk solutions, risk accounting, insurance broking, reinsurance broking, human capital consulting, business process outsourcing, benefits administration services;
  • determine eligibility and process applications for products and services;
  • provide information and services as requested by clients;
  • understand and assess clients' ongoing needs and offer products and services to meet those needs;
  • introduce and/or cross-refer you to any of the divisions, affiliated companies and/or other business units within Aon, wherever situated, for which we may or may not be remunerated;

  • to match and verify any data held by us relating to you from time to time for any of the purposes listed in this Statement;

  • market products and services (subject to appropriate consent);
  • comply, where reasonably necessary, with any obligations, requirements or arrangements that we have or may have in the future with local or foreign regulatory or tax authorities, whether imposed by law or assumed by us for the protection of our financial, commercial business or other legitimate interests in or related to such jurisdictions;

Aon will not process or retain data longer than required by contract or law and will take commercially reasonable and technically possible measures to destroy data that is no longer retained by shredding or otherwise destroying personal information in hard copy form and deleting personal information in soft copy form in an irretrievable manner.

Does Aon disclose your personal information?


Business Partners

Depending on the services we provide to the clients, we may disclose personal information to business partners that are necessary to provide our products and services. Where required we will seek your prior consent before disclosing to such business partners. Examples include:

  • banking and finance products - credit and fraud reporting agencies, debt collection agencies, insurers, reinsurers, and managed fund organizations for financial planning, investment products and trustee or custodial services in which you invest
  • insurance broking and insurance products - insurers, reinsurers, other insurance intermediaries, insurance reference bureaus, medical service providers, fraud detection agencies, our advisers such as loss adjusters, lawyers and accountants and others involved in the claims handling process
  • human capital consulting, business process outsourcing, benefits administration services - background checking agencies, fraud detection agencies, payroll service providers, insurers, medical service providers, trustees, administrators or managers of any employee benefit schemes or any relevant financial institutions
  • our related companies and affiliates in the provision of our products and services and who may wish to tell you about their services, products or promotional opportunities which may be of advantage to you, unless you tell us not to, and your representatives such as your lawyers, accountants, financial advisers etc.

We do not rent, sell or otherwise disclose personal information about our online visitors with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing use.

If you request electronic communications, such as an e-newsletter, you will be able to unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions included in the communication.

Mobile Devices

If you previously chose to receive push notifications on your mobile device from us but no longer wish to receive them, you can manage your preferences either through your device or the application settings. If you no longer wish to have any information collected by the mobile application, you may uninstall the application by using the uninstall process available on your mobile device.
