Invictus Games Sydney 2018

Invictus Games Sydney 2018 is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women, and will take place 20th - 27th October 2018. The Games welcome both active duty and veteran personnel, and celebrate the critical support role played by family and friends.

The Healing Power of Sport, Lunch Summit, 12 September 2018

In collaboration with the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, we were delighted to host CEOs from Australia's leading sporting bodies to discuss how the sporting industry can use the healing power of sport to create a long-term impact for veterans in the Australian community. Hear from CEOs of Commonwealth Games Australia, Australian Olympic Committee, Australian Paralympic Committee and the Australian Sports Commission. Insights are also shared by Invictus Games competitors including Curtis McGrath OAM and Rachel Kerrigan.

Membership of the Australian Veteran’s Employment Coalition

Aon is helping to build the global workforce of the future, and through our participation in the Coalition, we will be supporting the Games’ long term mission and legacy to provide employment pathways for veterans.

Volunteering

To help deliver a successful and memorable event, our Aon colleagues will be volunteering their time at the Games.

Education program

Invictus Games Sydney 2018 is creating long term social impact by educating the community as a whole about the nature of service and the role of the military, and promoting how to build resilience through an active and socially connected lifestyle. The program will be aimed at different sectors of the Australian community across generations including the education sector. We’re happy to have introduced their program to the Independent Schools sector through our partnerships with the Association of Independent Schools NSW and the Association of School Business Administrators.

Curtis McGrath partnership

Aon’s partnership with Invictus Games Sydney 2018 complements our partnership with Paralympic Games Gold Medallist Curtis McGrath OAM, an Invictus Games Sydney 2018 Ambassador. Curtis is focused on the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, and we look forward to supporting his journey every step of the way. ‘On behalf of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, I’d like to thank Aon for their vision and commitment to supporting our servicemen and women. The Invictus Games are such an important event for those recovering from injury’ (Curtis McGrath). See announcement.
