Aon appoints James Harmer as Head of Global and Corporate in Australia

SYDNEY, 11 Dec. 2025 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, today announced the appointment of James Harmer as Head of Global and Corporate for Aon in Australia, effective immediately.

Based in Sydney, Harmer will lead a national team of over 170 professionals delivering risk, insurance, and people solutions to Australia’s largest and most complex organisations. He will report to Kevan Johnston, CEO of Australia for Aon and join the Australian Executive Leadership Team.

Harmer brings a wealth of industry experience to his new role. He began his career at Aon in London as a broker in the Political Risk and Structured Credit team. He has held senior leadership positions at JLT and Marsh, most recently serving as Managing Director and Risk Management Leader for New South Wales at Marsh.

As Head of Global and Corporate, he will execute Aon’s national strategy for the segment, drive strategic growth initiatives, and ensure excellence in client service delivery. He will also advance Aon’s analytical capabilities and champion the development of innovative, data-driven solutions for clients and colleagues alike.

Harmer holds a BSc in Economics with Political Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
