Step-up for education
On January 13, Geoff Lambrou, Rishi Mehra and other Aon Singapore colleagues climbed the staircases of the SGX Singapore building – equal to the cumulative number of floors at the Aon centres in Singapore, London and Chicago – a combined 158 floors, which is more than 7,500 steps (up and down the stairs).
The stair climbing challenge was part of an endeavour to raise funds for charities working on education and youth empowerment programmes among underserved communities in the US, UK, and India.
The event was organised by Rishi Mehra, CFO, Aon Asia, as a part of the Pinnacle 5 cohort's fund-raising effort.
The Step-up challenge saw a participant turn out of close to 70 colleagues, including members of Aon leadership, George Attard (CEO, Reinsurance, Asia) and Geoff Lambrou (CBO & Specialty Leader, Asia).
At the end of 2 hours, our Aon Singapore colleagues had climbed up and down a total of 4,627 floors; a mammoth 222,000 vertical steps. Fourteen individual colleagues completed 158+ floors up and down, with Vinay Ananthanarayanan of the Reinsurance team being the fastest.
The team raised a total of S$8,500 via online and cash donations to be shared by our charity beneficiaries, Udayancare.org and Vidya-India.org.
