Aon Malaysia held its inaugural M&A seminar “Unlocking Value for Better Deal Outcomes” with support from close partners AIG and Liberty GTS, where more than 100 clients, co-advisors, insurance company partners and Aon colleagues came together to share industry trends and risk management tools.

The seminar featured two interactive panel discussions. On the first panel, we heard about how W&I insurance can be effectively used in transactions given the current M&A climate in Malaysia & the macro-economic environment and developments in the wider Southeast Asia region. Following which we learnt more about how the market is leveraging tax insurance and credit solutions to minimize or eliminate uncertainty in M&A transactions.

Aon Singapore held a real estate focused seminar “Unlocking Value in Real Estate” which saw the gathering of over 40 real estate investors, developers, advisers and risk managers. Aon Transaction Solutions team, together with other industry experts, shared effective ways to minimise and mitigate uncertainty in real estate transactions and seek commercially efficient ways to obtain downside protection in the event of unexpected risks materializing through the real estate lifecycle.

Led by Aon’s Transaction Solutions team, our panel of experienced industry experts shared useful insights on the latest M&A trends in the real estate sector as well as the associated risks. We learnt that M&A in the real estate sector can be a lucrative opportunity for investors, but given the current volatile business climate, it is critical to protect your M&A real estate investments with a comprehensive set of insurance solutions.

Our Transaction Solutions Director, Adrian Chai shared his views from an M&A insurance perspective on the panel “Cross-border deals: Opportunities and challenges” which focused on how to navigate Southeast Asia cross-border transactions in the current climate and pick of hotspots for the year.

Aon India held its inaugural M&A symposium “Demystifying M&A risk in India” where more than 100 clients, co-advisers, insurance company partners and Aon colleagues came together to share industry trends and risk management tools.

The Symposium featured two interactive panel discussions. On the first panel, we moderated a lively debate between underwriters, advisers and clients who openly shared their insightful (and at times opposing) views on how W&I insurance applies in today’s M&A climate, from coverage to claims. After hearing about W&I insurance, we learned more about how tax liability insurance where the panelists discussed common inhibitions and more importantly the other types of tax risks available for coverage as we look beyond the traditional ones.

Aon camaraderie shone though as colleagues travelled great distances from Singapore to London, to join in and share their personal experiences and insights.

Led by industry experts, the sessions explored wide ranging topics across M&A, deal risk strategies, diving into best practices that help drive transaction outcomes. This year the agenda covered a look at the changing M&A landscape, the expanding use of insurance capital to address complex deal, financial, tax and litigation risks, a deep dive into Aon’s claims activity and a look at risk in different types of transaction structures.

Our head of Tax Liability Insurance Asia, Vijay Nair shared his views from an Asian tax perspective on the panel “The Beast Unleashed: Deal Tax Risk under the Inflation Reduction Act” which covered the passage of the inflation reduction act created both risk and opportunity for dealmakers.
