Aon are hosting the 2019 DB Investment Conference: ‘Investing for success: analyse, agree, action’ on 26 September in London/2 October in Leeds and I would like to extend an invitation to you to join us.
This free half day event is designed to help trustees explore how they can invest for success given the combination of challenges they face today. Speakers will discuss some of our latest ideas and best thinking within investment. We’ll discuss how you might go about considering these areas and the actions you might want to take.
As well as hearing from Aon experts, we are also pleased to be joined by leading industry specialists. Some of the topics on the day will include:
Investing and covenant - How does investment strategy change when a scheme’s covenant takes a turn for the worse? How should trustees approach investment strategy setting? What impact does the funding level have? This session will look at an example of Integrated Risk Management (IRM) in practice.
Responsible Investing: The new normal - Responsible investment has moved from an outlier to a mainstay of the pensions industry. In this session, we look at the practicalities of integrating ESG and the key issues trustees may engage with and adopt as the responsible investment space continues to evolve.
Niche investing - In this session, we look at three niche investment ideas which can offer uncorrelated returns to your portfolio:

Inputting investment into your schemes long-term funding target - Recent regulation has led trustees and sponsors to recognise and put in place a long-term funding target for their plans. We examine what our clients are doing to meet this demand and consider how factors such as your scheme’s maturity and liquidity profile can influence the journey planning process.
