Advancing Inclusion & Diversity at Aon

Advancing Inclusion & Diversity at Aon

"We will take action and make changes to further embrace and advance our Inclusion & Diversity priorities. This work is critical to our Aon United culture, and to our success in serving our clients and providing opportunities for our colleagues."

‒ Greg Case, CEO

"Our Inclusion and Diversity priorities allow us to question traditional mindsets and create a new better workforce for colleagues and clients."

‒ Lisa Stevens, Chief People Officer

Fresh views and new perspectives are invaluable to our business—and they come from people who feel confident and comfortable with being true to who they are and what they see.

That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace that supports and empowers people of all backgrounds and experiences. For our firm to do its best work on behalf of clients, we need our colleagues to be able to work, express, be, and live in a way that is true to themselves.

We are proud of our Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) progress, and are always committed to being even better. At Aon, we are strengthening our efforts to ensure our firm is a place where all colleagues experience meaningful opportunities to grow and contribute throughout their careers.

Aon leaders have listened to colleagues across our firm, experts and many other voices and considered new opportunities for reinforcing our commitment to advancing I&D with meaningful actions that reflect our values.

In 2020 Aon formed the Global Inclusive Leadership Council, including 21 colleagues bringing a diverse array of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. The Council, guided by executive co-sponsors Greg Case, CEO, and Lisa Stevens, Chief People Officer (CPO), is providing advice, recommendations and accountability for Aon’s I&D strategy and related actions.

OUR FOUR KEY AREAS OF FOCUS

Continued success will enhance an inclusive culture where our colleagues are free to
bring their authentic selves to work and one where we hold ourselves accountable to
ensuring Aon is a place where all colleagues experience equal access and opportunity.

WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR

Hold Ourselves Accountable
Upon recommendation from the Council, the Aon Board of Directors has approved the creation of the Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) subcommittee of the Board of Directors. Lester B. Knight, Aon’s Board Chair, will serve as chair of the subcommittee that will help our firm accelerate our progress as we build upon the foundation of our I&D strategy and initiatives.

In addition, senior leaders from across the firm are being held accountable for executing action items to reinforce Inclusion & Diversity behaviors with their teams.

Invest in the Future Workforce
We are committed to investing over $30 million into our Apprenticeship program over the next five years to expand it globally, supporting our efforts to further build a more diverse pipeline of talent.

Demonstrate Our Commitment

Across our firm we've been raising awareness through town halls, workshops, forums and other opportunities to stimulate discussion and education around multiple I&D priorities. We launched new I&D learning resources and mandated trainings for all global colleagues. We also renewed our ‘I’m in’ campaign, offering leaders and colleagues the opportunity to pledge their personal commitment to an inclusive culture.

Lead Within Our Industry
We are proud to be a Global Dive In Festival Partner. Dive In is helping insurance get fit for the future, highlighting the business case for inclusive and diverse workplaces and providing practical ideas and inspiration for how to bring about positive change.

We are committed to building on our foundation of inclusion and diversity progress, taking
additional actions to make our company better for all colleagues, clients, and communities.
