Aon’s Brexit solution for Commercial Risk and Reinsurance

We have established a UK branch of Aon Belgium BV, through which, in a no trade deal Brexit scenario, Aon can serve all EU domiciled clients seeking continued access to the UK insurance and reinsurance market directly, as well as all non-EU clients, as far as it is required to do so, via an EU registered intermediary.

This model is in line with the guidance issued by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) on February 19, 2019 to EU regulators, and ensures we minimise disruption to our clients and to our services, operations and people. We have developed the model through a complex and lengthy process which has included close collaboration with our colleagues across Europe. Throughout the development period we consulted regularly with the Financial Conduct Authority and the Belgium regulator, the Financial Services and Markets Authority, and we have obtained the required authorisations and permissions for Aon Belgium BV (UK Branch).
