Aon and Irish Life Investment Managers launch €260m Emerging Markets Climate Transition Fund in Ireland
DUBLIN, Feb. 03, 2026 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, announced that it has collaborated with Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM), part of Keyridge Asset Management, to launch the Aon Emerging Markets Climate Transition Fund in Ireland.
With an initial allocation of €260m, the Emerging Markets Climate Transition Fund will integrate into Aon’s multi-asset fund range, giving Irish investors a modern, low-carbon alternative to traditional passive emerging market equity investments.
The fund draws on Aon’s global expertise in advising clients on climate transition and environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies, helping them manage risk while pursuing long-term returns. Building on Aon’s collaboration with ILIM, the fund focuses on investing in organizations and stocks that contribute to climate action and UN sustainable development goals.
“At Aon, our role is to help clients make decisions that support their long‑term objectives—especially as the transition to a low‑carbon economy creates new risks and opportunities across emerging markets,” said Denis Lyons, head of investment in Ireland for Aon. “The Emerging Markets Climate Transition Fund provides a modern way to access this asset class while integrating forward looking climate and ESG considerations. By drawing on our global expertise, data and analytics, we aim to deliver a solution that supports clients’ financial goals while addressing the transition risks that matter most to their organisations.”
With this launch, total assets invested across Aon’s bespoke climate transition strategies in Ireland have surpassed €1b. This milestone follows the introduction of Aon’s Developed Markets Climate Transition Fund in 2024 and reflects growing demand from investors for solutions that combine sustainability objectives with strong risk management and long‑term return potential.
Aon and ILIM worked closely together to design a solution aligned with client needs. Combining Aon’s advisory insights with ILIM’s proprietary quantitative modelling and enhanced sustainability factors, the collaboration delivers a flexible, low tracking error approach suited to the complexities of emerging markets. The fund’s investment strategy uses environmental data to reduce carbon emissions over time, aligning with global targets to limit warming to 1.5°C and achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
“This fund reflects Aon’s commitment to providing clients with more effective ways to access emerging markets. Our approach favours companies demonstrating measurable progress on climate transition, reduces portfolio emissions over time and maintains low tracking error relative to the broader market. It offers Irish investors a purposeful alternative to traditional passive emerging markets strategies, with a clear focus on aligning portfolios to long term transition pathways,” said, Oliver MacArthur, European head of equity manager research at Aon.
“We are delighted to deepen our work with Aon through the development of this bespoke emerging market equity solution for their clients,” said Brian Morrissey, head of European partnerships for ILIM. “Our approach enables us to collaborate closely with both local and international partners, leveraging our responsible investment and fund management expertise to deliver tailored solutions that align with each client’s specific objectives.”
The global responsible and sustainable investing market size continues to grow having projected to reach $39 trillion in 2025.1 This growth is driven by stronger investor demand for sustainable solutions, as well as increasing regulatory support in Europe, such as the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities, which require greater transparency and reporting on ESG practices.
