Third consecutive Gold Accreditation places Aon among just 14 organisations to retain status, reflecting Aon Ireland’s longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion
DUBLIN, 22 January 2026 – Aon Ireland has successfully retained its Investors in Diversity Gold accreditation for another two years. First awarded to Aon in 2021, this achievement marks the third consecutive time Aon has secured the highest level of recognition for diversity and inclusion, placing the firm among an exclusive group of only 14 organisations in Ireland to be re-accredited Gold status.
As Ireland’s premier FREDIE™ (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement) standard, achieving the Investors in Diversity Gold accreditation requires organisations to demonstrate exceptional leadership and measurable progress in embedding Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I) throughout their operations.
To achieve the accreditation, organisations must conduct an in-depth self-assessment of DE&I practices across the five principal pillars assessed by the Irish Centre for Diversity: diverse and inclusive leadership; policies, procedures, processes; recruitment, retention and progression; recording and monitoring; and impact on external diversity.
Since retaining its accreditation, Aon has continued to promote and enhance a strong culture of inclusion and wellbeing the organisation across a range of initiatives. Inclusive recruitment has been a key focus area, with manager training, job adverts analysed for inclusive language and diversity in candidate slates and interview panels among the initiatives in place. Mandatory training on unconscious bias and inclusive leadership at leadership level helps to ensure that inclusion is encouraged and promoted across every level of the organisation.
Aon’s new award-winning office at 15 George’s Quay, opened in 2024, was designed to foster a more inclusive focused working culture, featuring employee-focused facilities such as wellbeing rooms, quiet spaces and break out spaces to meet the needs of all Aon employees. Other new supports introduced include: a new menopause policy and supports, phased maternity leave returns, a new fertility policy and expanded bereavement leave to include same-sex couples and chosen family. Aon has also enhanced its flexible benefits and wellbeing programmes to support colleagues through key life stages.
Rachael Ingle, CEO of Aon Ireland, said: “Retaining the Investors in Diversity Gold Accreditation for the third time is a significant milestone for Aon and a testament to the dedication of our colleagues and leaders who champion inclusion and diversity every day.
“We know that inclusive teams deliver stronger collaboration and better solutions for our clients. As a result, the values of diversity, equality and inclusion are embedded in how we operate as an organisation, how we make decisions every day and how we support our people. This recognition reinforces our commitment to creating a workplace where every colleague feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. Looking ahead, we’re excited to build on our progress and drive meaningful changes for our colleagues, clients and communities.”
Caroline Cummins, Managing Director, Irish Centre for Diversity, said: “Aon’s retention of the Investors in Diversity Gold - the top tier of Ireland’s premier diversity accreditation - for the third consecutive time, is a significant achievement and reflects a deep and sustained commitment to embedding fairness, respect and inclusion across every level of their organisation. Building on the strong culture of inclusion established across every level of the business, Aon continues to advance new initiatives to further strengthen this culture and demonstrates leadership in creating a culture where employees feel heard, valued and supported.”
