Aon Ireland Welcomes Lloyd’s Football Club to Dublin For Charity Match

Charity match raise funds for local charities Pieta and Childhood Cancer Ireland

Dublin, 9th August Aon plc Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, recently welcomed Lloyd’s Football Club (FC) to Dublin for a series of charity football matches. In addition to promoting the game of football and celebrating diversity in sport, the tour was focused on raising funds for local charities Pieta and Childhood Cancer Ireland.

A club consisting of members of the London insurance community, Lloyd’s Football Club’s trip to Dublin marked the first time in the club’s history that the Men's, Women's and Veterans Teams toured together, as well as the first time that the Lloyd’s Women FC travelled for a game since its establishment in 2021.

As part of the tour to Dublin, the teams of Lloyd’s Football Club took on the men’s and women’s teams of Aon Ireland along with the Dublin Insurance Athletic Society teams.

Speaking about the recent football series, Damian Kilpatrick, Managing Director, Commercial Risk Solutions, Aon said: “We were delighted to welcome Lloyd’s FC to Dublin recently for a friendly series of competition. Whether in sport or business, we believe that working together is a key part of high performance that can lead to better outcomes. By strengthening our internal relationships beyond the office, we’re building a stronger foundation for future success.”

David Flint, Head of Football, Lloyd’s FC, said: “Our club comprises members of the London Insurance Community. We are a friendly based club that promotes and enhances the dual interests of the Lloyd’s market and the Corinthian principles of fair play and the ‘beautiful game,’ rather than merely competition.

“This tour was unique for us with our women’s team touring for the first time since being established in 2021. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to play against the teams at Aon Ireland and Dublin Insurance Athletic Society and I’d like to thank them for hosting us all so well and for the fun day of competition. We look forward to welcoming them to our home grounds soon.”
