Marine Equipment

Subsea technology has been a key tool for select industries for many years, but as time has moved on, the number of sectors using this technology has expanded. Today, the technology will generally be found in the exploration and production of offshore oil and gas, site clearance, defence, ocean research and leisure industries.

The types of equipment being utilized range dramatically depending on application and operation and, more often than not, will be operated in harsh and challenging environments. A large majority of this equipment is made up of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s), Autonomously Operated Vehicles (AUV’s), Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV’s) Streamers and other supporting equipment.

Due to the challenging environment in which the equipment is operated, most traditional marine insurances exclude or limit coverage for anything operating over the side of a vessel and, as a result, a specialist understanding of the coverages and products available is required.

A team of marine equipment specialists provides guidance on the types of products and coverages available.
