Michael Mahoney

Michael Mahoney is Co-Head of Aon U.S. and a member of Aon's Executive Committee. He jointly leads the country with responsibility for the Northeast Region, one of the firm's most dynamic and strategically important markets, as well as oversight of the Midwest Region.

As Co-Head of Aon U.S., Michael works closely with his counterpart and Aon's North America leadership team to help shape and advance the firm's growth strategy, delivering the latest data, insights and expertise to clients.

Michael has nearly three decades of industry experience. Throughout his 15-year tenure at Aon, he has held a series of leadership roles, most recently serving as Aon's Chief Commercial Officer for the U.S., where he was responsible for driving growth strategy and commercial excellence across Commercial Risk and Human Capital. He also led U.S. Commercial Risk sales, industry practice leadership and strategic pursuit efforts, helping advance Aon's integrated approach to client service and growth.

Michael joined Aon in 2012 and later served as West Region Leader, where he was responsible for regional performance, strengthening client relationships and delivering integrated solutions across Aon's Risk and Human Capital capabilities.

Prior to joining Aon, Michael spent a decade as a financial lines and management liability broker, beginning his career at Marsh and later serving as Western Region Practice Leader for FINEX North America at Willis.

Michael is recognized for helping clients address increasingly complex risk and workforce challenges, while building high-performing teams and developing the next generation of leaders.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
