About Aon
Aon is committed to conducting business with integrity and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Aon’s Code of Business Conduct sets forth Aon’s expectations for colleagues’ responsible engagement in political activity.
Aon does not make corporate political contributions, which are prohibited by the Code of Business Conduct. This includes contributions of corporate funds or other assets to political committees, candidates, 501(c)(4) organizations, ballot measures, or other political endeavors. Any political activity involving corporate resources must comply with applicable election and campaign‑finance laws, Aon policies, and our Code of Business Conduct, and is subject to the prior approval of Aon’s Law Department or Government Affairs Department.
From time to time, Aon engages with public officials and policymakers on legislation and regulation that may affect our clients, colleagues, and the markets in which we operate. This engagement helps us provide insight into how proposed policies could impact risk, insurance, retirement, health, and related services.
Aon may conduct this engagement directly or through external advisors and registered lobbyists, in each case in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Where required, Aon and any retained lobbyists file periodic lobbying disclosure reports with the relevant government authorities, which provide information about lobbying activities and related expenditures.
Our approach to public policy engagement is guided by Aon’s Code of Business Conduct and our internal policies, which require that all interactions with public officials be lawful, transparent, and consistent with our values.
Aon and its outside consultants file lobbying reports on a quarterly basis, disclosing lobbying activities and expenses. These reports can be accessed here.
Aon participates in a range of industry trade associations and other organizations, including certain entities that may engage in advocacy on public policy issues. These organizations can play a useful role by sharing expertise, educating policymakers, and helping to shape well‑functioning risk, insurance, and benefits markets.
Aon’s participation in a trade association or similar organization does not mean that we endorse every position, statement, or activity of that organization. We review memberships and related payments to help ensure they are consistent with Aon’s policies, values, and long‑term business interests.
Where appropriate, Aon may provide additional information about significant trade association memberships and related payments through our sustainability, governance, or other public reporting, which is reviewed and updated periodically.
Aon’s approach to political engagement, lobbying, and participation in trade associations is supported by a defined governance framework. Day‑to‑day activities are managed by senior leaders in relevant functions, with input and advice from Aon’s Law & Compliance department.
Oversight of these activities is integrated into our broader corporate governance, and we periodically review our policies and practices related to political activities, lobbying, and participation in trade associations and other organizations. This oversight helps ensure our approach remains aligned with Aon’s values, risk management standards, and the long‑term interests of our clients, shareholders and other stakeholders.
We regularly evaluate our disclosures in this area to confirm that they are clear, accessible, and provide stakeholders with meaningful insight into how Aon engages on public policy issues.
