London was blessed with a rare Spring heatwave  on 1 May this year, when nearly 200 UK clients and carriers came together with Aon leaders and experts from around the world at the Landmark Hotel in London, for our second Aon Insights Series dedicated to the UK market.

The day was kicked off with a macroeconomic outlook session, followed by discussions on topics across the four areas of Trade, Technology, Weather and Workforce, as well as exploring the importance of analytics and artificial intelligence in today’s decision-making. We closed the day with a keynote focused on geopolitical insights in a volatile world.

We also learned valuable insights from a wide range of companies, including Aldermore, Mondi, Allianz, BAE Systems, Veolia, UBS and Barclays to name but a few. 

Like last year, we have summarised the key findings of our discussions on the day in this special report. Over the course of the day, several noticeable themes emerged. One key thread was the impact of Artificial Intelligence on businesses’ workforces and operations. And the second was the importance of having the most precise and forward-looking data to effectively tackle the latest geopolitical and macroeconomic changes and volatility. 

Whether risks stem from the latest advances in technology, supply chain dependence, climate exposure or a shortage of key talent, businesses can only become better informed and advised about key decisions through actionable analytics, globally integrated capabilities and locally relevant expertise.
