Making Better Decisions — A C-Suite Perspective

Our panel discussion looked at the issues facing today’s business leaders and how they have become more complex and interconnected.

Business leaders face a massive range of issues that can significantly impact their operations and strategic goals — some of which were not around two or three years ago. In fact, some of the challenges facing today’s organizations were not even discussed at last year’s Aon Insights Series.

Aon is in the process of asking companies around the world about their attitudes to risk and risk management in this year’s Global Risk Management Survey but here are some of the issues that were top of our guest speakers’ minds on the C-Suite Panel at this year’s Aon Insights Series London.

  • Economic Uncertainty: Fluctuations in the global economy, including inflation, currency volatility and trade tensions can affect business stability and profitability. Enterprises need to develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Strategies for Growth: According to our recent report, CFO Roadmap: Better Decisions for Multidimensional Growth, organizations are adopting new growth approaches to address digital disruption, geopolitical uncertainty and stakeholder expectations. By evaluating factors like risk management, merger and acquisitions, talent and environmental impact, businesses are aiming to achieve sustainable and resilient growth.
  • Talent Management: Attracting, retaining, and developing top talent is a significant challenge, especially in a competitive job market. Businesses need to focus on employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and upskilling initiatives.
  • Data Management and Analytics: Effectively managing and leveraging vast amounts of data for strategic decision-making is a critical challenge. Organizations of every shape and size need robust data governance and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Sustainability Concerns: Increasing pressure from stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices and demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance performance requires enterprises to integrate these considerations into their business strategies.
